General processing

We process personal data only where necessary to provide this website, keep it secure, answer requests, operate the newsletter, comply with legal duties or protect legitimate interests. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted on servers in Germany. The hosting provider is Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany.

When you visit the website, technical data is processed by the web server. This can include IP address, time of access, requested URL, status code, transferred data volume, referrer and browser information. Processing is necessary to deliver the website, analyze errors and protect against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Web server log files are normally stored for 14 days and then deleted or anonymized; longer retention can be necessary in specific security incidents.

Contact requests

If you contact us by email or contact form, we process the details you provide, such as name, email address, message content and technical submission data, in order to handle the request. Depending on the content, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual communication, or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for general inquiries. Our legitimate interest is answering and documenting messages.

If you subscribe to TrafficChaser Weekly, we process your email address, optional name, selected topics, language, confirmation status and technical confirmation data. Subscription uses a double opt-in process. You can unsubscribe at any time through the unsubscribe link in each email. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Cookies and local storage

The site can use technically necessary cookies or similar storage for security, forms, session handling or newsletter confirmation. We currently do not use external analytics pixels, advertising networks or social tracking widgets on TrafficChaser content pages.

Recipients and processors

Technical service providers can process data on our behalf where this is necessary for hosting, email delivery, security, maintenance or support. We select processors carefully and use appropriate contractual safeguards where required.

Your rights

Subject to statutory requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection.
